Church Leadership
Rev. Phillip Mayberry
Pastor Mayberry was converted from a life of Atheism at the age of 21. He loves the Lord Jesus Christ intensely, and is overwhelmed daily by the Lord's grace and love. He has been married to Heather for 21 years, and they have three amazing children: Adeline, Ava, and Asher. His favorite Bible passage is either John 17, or Psalm 73:22-26... but also Zechariah 3:1-5. He has pastored Covenant for the last 12 years, and is so thankful to God that Jesus has built His church. George Swinnock is his favorite puritan writer, mainly due to his illustrative language and warm devotion. He enjoys hunting, calligraphy, and watching Alabama football with the family.
Elder Keith Began
After growing up completely ignorant to the Gospel (as he says, ‘with only myself to blame’), the Lord saved Keith at age 30. Since then he has served as Deacon or Elder in various Churches of the ARP, OPC, and PCA in Alabama, Wisconsin, and North Carolina. He has served as Elder at Covenant Reformed since 2021. Keith enjoys teaching and seeing individuals gain new understanding of Scripture and Reformed Covenant Theology. One of his favorite Bible verses is Proverbs 17:27-28 “The man of few words and settled mind is wise; therefore, even a fool is thought to be wise when he is silent.” Keith commends to others the writings of Puritan Stephen Charnock. Cindi, his wife of 30 years is his best friend, and he credits her with making him better in every way possible. Keith enjoys biking on rails to trails, hiking, animals, and tossing bread to the ducks and geese.
Elder Don Saunders
Elder Brett Snyder
Brett was called to Christ at 14 and discipled in late 20’s to the full knowledge of what Christian living was all about. After being widowed twice of 22-1/2 years and 12 years respectively, he is currently married to Amy for 5 years. Brett has a quiver of 6 children (natural and stepchildren) and 3 grandchildren.
His life verse is Proverbs 3:5-6 “Without faith and trust in God and his word, nothing is possible outside of Him.”
Brett has served as deacon for 11 years total at 5 different churches combined and has been a member at Covenant for over 2 years
He enjoys hiking, reading, fitness and gaming.
Elder Walt Parsons
Walt makes known that he is foremost, a sinner saved by His marvelous grace. Having grown up in the church and called to Christ as a young boy, he received a foundation for what would later become a much deeper call upon his life. After learning the full context and meaning of the ‘doctrines of grace’ and the life transforming teaching of reformed theology, he received a personal call to a deeper faith in Christ through His irresistible grace. And today, he affirms his constant need of Christs fountain of grace.
A favorite scripture speaks of the special kind of love which is the hallmark of a Christian; “Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.” 1 Corinthians 13:7
One of Walt’s favorite puritans is John Flavel who was a voluminous writer with the tender heart of a pastor. “They that know God will be humble. They that know themselves cannot be proud.” - John Flavel
Walt and his wife Jenny have been married for 26 years and have adult children Gavin, and Hannah. He enjoys studying theology, natural health, gardening, and raising chickens.
